Cuba: The Splendid Little War

Cuba: The Splendid Little War (2nd Edition) is a two-player historical strategy game that recreates the Cuban War of Independence and the Spanish-American War of 1895–1898. One player commands the Spanish colonial forces fighting to maintain control of Cuba, while the other leads the Cuban rebels and, as events unfold, the United States. Through card-driven gameplay, strategic resource management, and difficult military and political decisions, players must contend with guerrilla warfare, disease, public opinion, economic pressures, and international intervention. As players explore this pivotal conflict, they naturally strengthen critical thinking, strategic planning, historical analysis, and decision-making while gaining a deeper understanding of late nineteenth-century history, military strategy, diplomacy, and the events that reshaped Cuba and the Americas.
